The ARC was more than a rehearsal and recording facility. The Austin Rehearsal Complex–AKA The ARC–was a hub of Austin Music for 10 good years–1989 to 1999.

The ARC was founded and co-owned by two friends: Don Harvey and Wayne Nagel. Don & Wayne’s first client was, of course, Charlie Sexton. The facility was first-class; it had good soundproofing & gear, 10 studios & a real cool vibe … but this place was much more than the sum of its parts. There was kismet at The ARC–a unique combination of a caring staff (all musicians), amazing clientele and TIMING. The stars lined up and what could have just been “Austin’s First Professional Rehearsal Facility” became a community center of sorts for musicians; a place to hang, shoot hoops, write songs, meet old friends, make new friends, and yeah, rehearse & record. You can finally snag a piece of some of Austin’s finest music history with Wayne’s new ARC t-shirts. Available at the store and through our online store.
